Surgical Errors
Surgical malpractice involves technical errors during surgery, unnecessary surgery, and failure to recognize known complications that can occur before the surgeon completes the surgery as well as failure of the surgeon to recognize and treat surgical complications in a timely manner after surgery. Surgical errors are not mere accidents or mistakes. In fact, most of these errors are completely avoidable if the surgeon is responsible and careful. Often, surgical errors can have a far greater impact on the patient then the condition for which they originally sought out surgery.
